Despite of rapid and strongly exponential rise of possibilities delivered by evolving technology like informatics, including AI and robotics, miniaturization and automation also in NLP (Natural Language Processing) and multilingual simultaneous translating in real time, process of foreign languages learning brings invaluable benefits in cognitive development of human beings.

AWT approach assumes using modern technologies like Artificial Intelligence and gamification in quality improvement of foreign languages learning. Today generative Large Linguistic Models (LLMs) like GPT-based ANNs (Artificial Neural Networks) are able to play creative and versatile roles during human-machine interaction, not only in the word-based domains like speaking, writing and listening, but also multi-modal inputs and outputs including images, videos and sounds analysis and ad-hoc creation. AWT project is expected to deliver a mobile and desktop software platform enabling users (especially students) versatile interaction focused around their interests and hobbies like sport, sciences, gaming, books reading, music, fashion, technology, just to name a few. The said platform utilizes AI for animating learners interactions using their interests as the attracting points of discussions and actions.

One example is a gamification process implementing LLMs for the Game Master role. AI can create a whole storytelling on the fly, depending on users interaction and reactions. AI can produce not only text, but also images, speech, and detailed and realistic videos in the near future. Due to the “hallucinating” creativity and diversity (called “high model temperature”) AI assistant or Game Master can forge the narration around topics interesting for human interlocutors. AI can create new tasks demanding practicing of new vocabulary or grammatical constructions used in foreign language and simultaneously check and notify individual progress and struggles. Users demanding additional exercises and repetitions can get extra “missions” and “tasks” to be fulfilled during the game or play. Each activity can be spread over days or even weeks and some tasks can play the role of a nice and engaging homework adopted to individual pace and actual skills. Thanks to this, the learning process, even in a group of persons with different language skills can be well balanced and not leave anybody behind.

AWT can also act as a comprehensive communication platform between users around the globe who want to practice their linguistic skills in various languages and also dialects, ways of pronunciation and jargon specific to a given field, both professional and hobby. In the case of lack of demanded user with defined language and dialect skills willing to discuss specific topic or issue, AI can play a substitute role. AI can behave like native and well educated speaker or express an intermediate level or just behave as a fresh beginner, depending on individual need and situation. The potential possibilities and benefits are literally endless.
